In 2016 we acquired a beautiful three-storey Victorian building, which was built circa 1874. After extensive renovations the building now features a wig styling floor with two dedicated wig consultation areas, separate to the main hairdressing salon on the first floor. These areas have private off-street car parking and access from the rear of the building for the provision of total privacy and discretion. On the second floor we offer a VIP Salon where you can have your hair system maintained and styled in private.

It all started 30 years ago, When I was training I loved Wig making and as I started work I very quickly saw how tough it was to find a hair replacement solution to hair loss caused by chemotherapy or Alopecia, my journey started to find the solution, the product and a building I would be proud to welcome any client needing any solution to their hair loss needs giving them the 5 star treatment they truly deserve. I am also very proud to be able to offer custom made systems to suit your individual needs with the help of my bespoke wig maker.
A relaxed, private environment
Once we found the building and completed the renovations, the most important thing on my mind was choosing a room and dressing it out in a way that it would feel warm and inviting in the hope that you felt at home and relaxed, knowing that the first consultation can be emotional. After our consultation you will have the comfort of knowing I have all the knowledge built up over the years, experience with various wig makers (for your custom made piece specific to your requirements) and wig suppliers (for your ready to wear options) a phone call away.
Oliveen Kelly
Oliveen Kelly has 30 years of experience in hairdressing, as well as 25 years working with wigs. Her vast experience means she not only is passionate in finding the best pieces to suit each person, but also understands the stress and upset hair-loss can cause, and so deals with each client with the utmost care and empathy.
“I have thin hair myself, so wig-making was an area I wanted to explore and was something that really interested me,” explains Oliveen. “From there, I became interested in all types of hair enhancements, from extensions to full wigs, frontal pieces, fringes, and toupees.”
She has been working with a hairdresser and wig maker in London for the past 15 years, who has trained her in the cutting and styling of wigs and hairpieces, as well as advising her on how to find the best hair solutions for her clients’ individual needs.

Alternative Hair Solutions are based Draperstown, in the heart of Mid Ulster, 50 minutes from Belfast and within an hour of most major cities within Northern Ireland, we are situated @ 55 St Patricks Street, BT45 7AJ, on the Main Street, in a beautiful Victorian building, constructed in 1874.
