It’s time to talk
A few months ago my daughter Cassie and I agreed to be interviewed for the Lynette Fay radio show, we were asked by one of the the Lynette Fay team if we would be interested in letting their listeners hear about Cassie’s hair loss journey, we agreed and you can listen to the story via the link below.
The weeks and months since that radio interview I have been inundated with calls from mothers telling that their husbands, mothers, aunties sister’s or brothers had heard us on the radio and asked them to listen to it as they knew the pain they were going through to find a solution.
In most cases it was just advice I had to give, advice on where to start in most cases was a call to a doctor to get bloods done and then arrange an appointment at a dermatologist for specialist advice.
Too many cases we are left with a doctor telling us its Alopecia and there in nothing we can do. Without a blink of an eye they expect us as mothers or as even patients to accept this and not look at the cause of the issue, which may be able to allow the hair loss to be reversed in some cases
I have also had many calls from ladies with naturally thinning hair which is causing them sever anxiety and low self esteem. In this case having the ability to let them try on a few top pieces or full head wigs in our very private and well stocked hair replacement salon has seen them totally transformed and they end up looking fabulous and more like their former self.
I would love to gather information from each of you on how you may have been affected. Many of the calls I receIved took my advice on going to see a specialist which worked, they called me back and are keeping me informed with their progress.
